As you may be aware, the Assumption Alumni Educational Resources Association has been conducting a benefit golf tournament for over 35 years to financially assist Catholic families who have a financial need to send their children to a Catholic high school in the area. We have been extremely fortunate to have alumni, friends and others who have contributed to our association. All funds received go to educational assistance as no officer or director of the organization reaps any benefit from donated funds. We all feel, as you do, that our children are our most precious asset.
We are retooling our organization in an attempt to continue to be a viable 501(c)(3) charitable institution. Due to the advancing age of our committee and the golfers who participate in the golf tournaments, we have decided after very careful consideration to cease having any further tournaments.
Keeping all this in mind we are going to try to capture the funds we will no longer receive from the golf tournaments by monetary donations from our alumni, family and friends as well as any corporate donations we may receive. Keep in mind that $100.00 received from each golfer resulted in about $30.00 available for scholarships after expenses. 100% of donations will now go to the scholarship fund. As through all the previous years, all donations will be used to provide scholarships for financially strapped families wanting to give their children a Catholic high school education. The monetary contributions we receive will determine if it's feasible to continue our existence as a not-for-profit organization.
If you can fit it into your budget to contribute it would be greatly appreciated. Please pass this information on to anyone who may be interested in giving us a donation.
